Become a Member
Any academic unit (department, division, school, college, business school, etc.) whose parent institution awards economics degrees at the associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral level may apply for membership in IAABEP.
Membership requirements
To become an IAABEP member in the field of education, an academic business unit must:
Step 1
Apply for membership in an educational organization. An application form for educational membership is available on the IAABEP website. The application includes providing:
a. Evidence that the member has a publicly stated mission appropriate to higher education. This mission must be approved by the governing body of the institution (i.e., trustees, regents, directors).
b. Evidence that the institution awards degrees at a level appropriate to the U.S. degree: associate, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral.
c. Copies of the most recent catalogs, prospectuses, marketing brochures, or other materials that describe the institution’s undergraduate and graduate business-related degree programs. If these materials are available online, provide direct link(s) to this information.
d. Acknowledgement of commitment to excellence in business education
Step 2
Upon receipt of conditional approval of membership in the education area, pay the appropriate membership dues. Failure to make timely payment will result in cancellation of the IAABEP Educational Membership application.
Upon completion of the Educational Membership process, an IAABEP representative will contact the designated IAABEP Primary Representative to discuss the next steps in the IAABEP Specialized Accreditation process.
Membership allows individuals within the institution access to IAABEP member-only resources. Educational Membership does not imply accreditation of any type or guarantee that any business program(s) will be accredited by IAABEP. The institution will be able to disclose that it is an IAABEP Educational Member, but only in the manner prescribed by IAABEP policy.
If two or more academic units have the same parent institution or if the institution provides business programs under different institutional names, separate membership may be required. Contact the IAABEP office to discuss the options available.
